Conjunctions

One way of linking your ideas and forming longer sentences is to use conjunctions (joining words).

The list shows some pairs of simple sentences that you might find in a report of a traffic accident for an insurance claim. Click on each pair to see one way of using a conjunction to join them together.

I pulled out very slowly because I know it is a dangerous junction.
When I was sure there was nothing coming, I turned the corner.
