Types of data
There are two types of numerical data: discrete and continuous.
You can collect discrete data by counting, for example:
- people at a football match
- bottles of drink coming off a production line
- aeroplanes taking off from an airport.
You can collect continuous data by measuring, for example:
- a person's temperature
- the weight of a baby
- the speed of a car.
