Tips for answering questions
- Read the question carefully.

- When you are looking for subject-verb agreement, check that:
- a singular subject has a singular verb form
- a plural subject has a plural verb form.
- When you are checking tenses, look for consistency and correct verb forms.
- Watch out for the verb to be - this is a favourite in the test. The common error is a singular subject with a plural verb form (e.g. I were, he were, it were) or a plural subject with a singular verb form (e.g. we was, they was).
- Check your answer before you move on.
