Area

The area of a shape is a measure of the surface - how much space it takes up. Area is measured in square units.

You can work out the area of a rectangle using the formula:

A = l × w

where l = length and w = width. The measurements must be in the same units.

What is the area of this rectangle? Type your answer in the box.
