This letter includes the address of the person who will receive it. This is typical of a formal letter.
Formal and informal letters usually include the sender's name and address at the top. Some organisations may just put their name or logo here and provide a contact address elsewhere.
A formal letter may be addressed to 'Dear Sir/Madam' or to a particular person (title and surname). If you see your name here, the writer may know who you are - they may be replying to a letter you wrote to them, for example. However, increasingly, advertisers use this as a trick to make you feel they are writing to you personally when they are sending the same letter to thousands of people!
This letter starts with an eye-catching sentence in bold, but it does not tell us what the writer's purpose is. The language in a formal letter is usually polite and serious, but this letter starts with quite an informal exclamation. If you read on you will find that the letter is written to persuade you to give money to a charity.
