When you add or multiply, the order of the numbers makes no difference to the answer, but when you subtract or divide, the order is important.

4 ÷ 2 is not the same as 2 ÷ 4.

You can divide a number by a larger one. The answer will be a fraction (or decimal fraction if you use a calculator).
